Signing in

Kurir signs in with an app password from your mail provider, not your usual password. iCloud: make an app-specific password at account.apple.com. Gmail: turn on 2-Step Verification, then make an app password. Fastmail: make an app password with IMAP and SMTP access under Settings > Privacy & Security. Any other provider works with its IMAP and SMTP addresses.

Notifications

Kurir Push sends new-mail notifications right away. It runs on your Mac while Kurir is open (Settings > Devices > Run Kurir Push on this Mac), or on a Linux server, see Kurir Push on a server. Without it, your iPhone checks for new mail when iOS lets it, so notifications may come late; keep Background App Refresh on for Kurir in iOS Settings.

Encryption

Encryption seals your Kurir settings in your mailbox with a passphrase. Keep it safe: there is no way to recover it. A new device gets the key by pairing under Settings > Devices, or by entering the passphrase.

AI model

AI Rules and Generate draft run on your own Claude Code subscription. Install Claude Code on a computer and sign in with your Claude Pro or Max account, run claude setup-token in a terminal, approve it in the browser, and paste the token it prints (it starts with sk-ant-oat01-) in Settings > AI model. Turn on encryption to share it with your other devices.

Subscription

Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings: on iPhone in Settings > your name > Subscriptions, on Mac in the App Store under your account. See the terms for how renewal works.

Moving from Kurir 1.x

Settings > Backups > Advanced reads the export file from your Kurir 1.x server and brings its senders, rules, snoozes, groups and settings along.
